The AdMeter Tells Us Something About Americans

The Giants won the Super Bowl yesterday, but we had to wait until today to know who were the winners among the game's advertisers.

Today's AdMeter results show that the viewer's favorite commercial was Dorito's "Sling Baby", followed by Kia's "A Dream Car. For Real Life." and Bud Light's "Weego."

A closer look at the top ten ads reveal something about Americans: we love dogs. Put a dog in a Super Bowl spot and you are sure to have a fan favorite. Every ad that starred a dog made it into the top ten commercials on the AdMeter; that is 4 of the top ten.
It is also apparent, that if a brand can't get a dog for their spot, a baby, a hot girl or Clint Eastwood will do the trick.

As for me, my favorite commercials during the big game don't totally match up with the AdMeter.

Before the game, I had posted that Honda's "Matthew's Day Off", Toyota's "Reinvention", and Chevy Sonic's "Stunt Anthem" were my favorite ads among the early releases. But after watching the game last night, here are my Super Bowl ad winners: Budweiser and Chevy. Both had just the right mix of humor and emotion.

Budweiser - "Eternal Optimism"

Bud Light - "Here Weego"

Chevy Sonic - "Stunt Anthem"

Chevy Silverado  - "2012"
